WHAT THIS APP COLLECTS
Before The Shot has no account, no login, and no server. It collects nothing about you beyond what you type into it: your shoot plans, five-decisions answers, reflections, tracker entries, shot lists, your onboarding profile (camera, genres, experience, goals), and app settings like theme and notification preferences.
WHERE IT IS STORED
Everything above is stored only on this device, in the app's local storage. It is never uploaded, synced, or sent anywhere automatically.
NETWORK ACTIVITY
The app makes no network requests of its own. The only thing that leaves the device is triggered by you directly: tapping Contact opens your email app to write to Joshua Ball, and tapping Export Data creates a file that you choose where to save or share.
NOTIFICATIONS
If you turn notifications on, the app asks your device for permission through the standard system prompt. No data is sent to enable this; it is handled entirely by your device.
ANALYTICS AND THIRD PARTIES
There are no analytics tools, trackers, or advertising SDKs in this app, and no data is shared with any third party. If Before The Shot Pro is purchased through the App Store, Apple processes that payment directly; this app does not see or store payment details.
YOUR CONTROL OVER YOUR DATA
You can export everything at any time from You → Data, or delete everything at any time with Delete All Data. Deleting the app from your device also removes all of this data, since nothing exists outside it.
CHILDREN
This app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from them, though as noted above it does not collect or transmit personal information from anyone.
WHO IS RESPONSIBLE
Before The Shot is developed by Joshua Ball, trading as JoshuaJBall, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. Because the app stores everything locally on your own device and transmits nothing, there is no central database of user data held by us.
